Here are my reading 7 notes. I thought the whole paragraph from Graff's piece interesting as well as the highlighted part from Nasir & Hand's article.

Of the readings #7, this is one of the excerpts that I liked the most. It explains why students would feel like they succeeded more in one domain than another.

My "Readings 7 Notes" are below! Readings 7 Notes.docx (24.31 KB) P.S. I really loved the "From the Court to the Classroom" article! It identified such an interesting phenomena in regard to the acquisition of discourses as it is related to the importance of feeling a sense of belonging in the context of the content being acquired. (Disregard my terrible grammar haha).

Hey lovely people! Here are my reading 8 AND 9 Notes: Readings 8 Notes.docx (27.13 KB) What a great article! I love the idea of teachers needing to build trusting relationships with students who have been "marginalized" in the classroom (in my opinion, regardless of content area!). I'll touch on this more in my discussion post

Here are my reading 7 notes. I thought the whole idea of motivation to learn and classroom engagement directly effecting performance was very interesting.
