Hey so when I went in today the woman in charge, Becky Pengelley, seemed very interested in us getting together and creating a schedule for tutoring. She wants us to come in as regularly as possible.
Hours are: Monday-Friday, 2:00-8:00
She suggested coming in around 3:00. I figured this was a good place to try and figure all this out so that we can send her a mostly complete schedule. If you are interested in this opportunity please add your availability and lets get this started. They want to start as soon as possible so, the faster we collect our availability the faster we can all get started.
I am available whenever so I can fill in where we have gaps in the schedule.

Hi! Thanks for inviting me and organizing this! (Such a helpful tool). Anytime between 4-7 would be most ideal in my book but we are flexible. I'd love a clear schedule so I can advertise it to the students. Once we get that up, if there are ever any emergencies and a tutor can't come, please shoot me a text at 561-309-9746 so I can let the staff and students know.
Also, I've shared with several of you, the vision for this month long tutoring program. We wanted students to bring in report cards and create summer long tutoring plan that will help them be successful in the upcoming school year. As they work their plan, we will provide rewards along the way (each day of tutoring earns a free snack voucher, if students participate in tutoring each day of the week can participate in an icecream social on Friday, at the end of the month, if they've gone to tutoring EACH day that it's been available, we'll take them to Stevie B's for pizza. Simple but they are excited to get going.
Please let me know if you want to get started this week. We can use the tomorrow and Friday to create their plans and fully kick off on Monday.

I'm interested in volunteering at the Palmer Munroe Teen Center as opposed to with the credit recovery program because the hours fit better with my schedule. I'm still working on what days will work best and will get my schedule to Becky soon.

Sarah did a great job at signing teens up today and creating a summer plan for each of them! She said she'd post them here for you all to see. We would like to have someone do the same tomorrow so we'll be ready to go.
It's looking like we'll have one of you here each day, so we are requiring the students to participate in a minimum of two days during the week, but they can do more!

I went in to the Palmer-Munroe Center yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, May 24) from 4:00-6:30 PM and can't believe how many different activities I had time to take part in.Becky was not there, but the Office Manager Elaine Green pointed out some students that she thought might want some extra help and introduced me. Neither of them had their work with them, but we made initial introductions and talked about the subjects they might need to work on. Then the ZOOMBA instructor Sophie, also an FSU student volunteer, had a hard time getting anyone to participate so another volunteer and myself started the ZOOMBA dancer-cise with her and soon we gather a group. Next Henry, the Gardening Instructor, also an FSU Biology volunteer, showed up and I finished out my time working on the center's garden with the students. It was a great start because I met a lot of different people around the center so I would not seem like a stranger the next time I show up Thursday evening.

Hey guys! I'm confused, should we just be stopping by the center when we're available? When I met with Becky, she told me she would send me an email. I can start as soon as possible.
